Ken Kumph

Ken got his start in construction as a carpenter’s assistant upon graduating from high school. After 2 years in the trade he enrolled Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston and earned a degree in Building Construction Technology. Working his way thru the trades as a carpenter, finish carpenter and project manager he started Premier Builders in 1986. Ten years later, in 1996 Ken brought the millwork and cabinetmaking aspects of his projects in house. In the 35 plus years of business, the company has grown to 20 employees and strengthened its presence in the high end residential and commercial interiors markets. As a general contractor, Premier Builders has managed the construction of countless custom homes, large and small remodeling, renovations and architectural millwork projects as well as commercial, office and retail interiors.

Premier Builders cabinet shop is located across the street from our main office and occupies approximately 10,000 sf. with 6 full time shop employees. We fabricate, finish and install all aspects of residential and commercial millwork including cabinets, moldings, furniture and architectural details. Our shop is equipped with state of the art tooling and software, with a combination of CNC manufacturing and hand-crafted workmanship. The millwork team have completed beautiful interiors throughout the Boston and North Shore areas and as well as specific projects from Maine to Florida. The quality of our work and the professionalism of our team are the foundation of our culture.

Ken is the president of Premier Builders and has an active role in the day to day operations with sales, estimating, and business management. He has been a team leader and frequent volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, is an active member of the Cabinet Makers Association, the National Association of Homebuilders, and a member of the National Kitchen and Bath Association. He is a continued supporter of local youth sports teams and educational endeavors.

Ken Currently serves as the President of The Cabinet Makers Association

Ken’s personal time revolves around family, cooking, golf and music.
